An Old Painting

One day you were walking at an art fair and you found a beautiful and a very delicate painting. It was truly exquisite, made by an artist who was destined to be one of the great ones. You bought it. You took it home and hung it on your kitchen wall.

For months you have woken up to those fresh colors. They inspired you to live greatly and create freely. You took care of the painting dearly and loved it deeply.

Years went by.

You still take care of the painting. You still love it. Nevertheless – you got used to it.
You wake up and see it as just another painting on your kitchen wall.
The artist who painted it is now a famous painter whose works appear in museums all around the world. Your friends still marvel at the paining and it current value. Still… to you it’s just another painting hanging on your kitchen wall. It has become a part of your every day reality.

Feelings fade. Unusual becomes ordinary. Exciting becomes dreary. Material becomes weary.
Everything comes to an end. And even great love exists till death does it’s part.
